Wordpress Orlando Web DesignAs a Orlando Web Design Company that utilizes the WordPress CMS, we are concerned about your websites security. We hope you are too. Hackers like WordPress websites because they are plentiful and often are running older versions of the software with security vulnerabilities.

Along with keeping your WordPress site up to date, you can make this simple code change to deter hackers and make your site more secure and safe.

Have Your Web Developer Do This:

1. Open the Theme Directory, find the functions.php file.
2. Edit the file, and add this snippet of code toward the top.

The Code

remove_action('wp_head', 'wp_generator');

What Does This Do?

It removes this tag:
<meta name="generator" content="WordPress 3.3.1" />

That tag can tell hackers that scan your site that you are using WordPress, which will entice them try and hack it.

Is Your Web Developer Concerned with Security?

If not, than you need to look elsewhere. Security is key for protecting a website owner and their customers.
